Earlier this year, Pembroke Port showcased an inspiring example of what true collaboration looks like in the world of logistics and supply chain management. Despite challenging weather conditions, the team at Pembroke Port delivered a complex and time-sensitive cargo operation with precision and professionalism.
This operation demonstrated what can be achieved through well-coordinated teamwork. From the Port of Milford Haven’s marine team to the logistics and crane specialists, each part of the supply chain played a vital role in delivering a complex project in demanding conditions.
The success of the operation reflects not only Pembroke Port’s capability, but also the strength and reliability of the trusted network of tenants, suppliers, and partners who operate here.
This project was driven by the combined efforts of a dedicated group of stakeholders, each playing a vital role in its success. Ffolkes Offshore Ltd, as the appointed agent coordinating the move, Mainstay Marine Solutions, a key tenant at Pembroke Port brought valuable expertise to the process, Jevington Logistics managed the transportation with efficiency and precision, ensuring everything stayed on schedule. Meanwhile, Davies Crane Hire Ltd delivered essential crane support, handling the cargo safely and effectively throughout the operation.
Additionally, the Port of Milford Haven’s marine team played a crucial role in the success of the operation. The Port’s marine pilots provided expert support to guide the vessel safely into and out of the Port, demonstrating seamless coordination and professionalism throughout. Their collaboration with the ship’s crew was instrumental in ensuring safe navigation during the manoeuvre.
The Port of Milford Haven’s Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) team also contributed significantly by closely monitoring the entire operation. Their oversight and communication ensured the vessel’s movements were conducted safely and efficiently, maintaining a high standard of situational awareness and operational control.
The Pembroke Port Operations Team, managed by Chris Oliver, played a central role in the success of the operation, and Operations Coordinator, Aaron Hosking oversaw activity on the ground. Marine Support Officer, David Stubbins ensured safe and coordinated marine movements throughout and Commercial Manager, Sharon Adams brought everything together as the Project Lead, aligning all teams and maintaining a clear focus on safety, timing, and delivery from start to finish.
This project is a prime example of the power of collaboration in action. At Pembroke Port, we don't just provide facilities and services, we foster a collaborative environment where partnerships thrive, and where the success of one operation fuels the success of the next.
