Silver Explorer visits Pembrokeshire

18 May 2015

Pembroke Port will welcome cruise vessel ‘Silver Explorer’ on Saturday 23rd May when she visits Pembrokeshire as part of an itinerary that takes in the rich history of England, Wales, Ireland and France.

Operated by Silverseas, Silver Explorer is a small, luxurious ship of 108m length and 6072 tonnes.  She carries up to 132 passengers plus 115 crew and will arrive in Pembroke Port at approximately 0700 hrs, before departing for a trip to Skomer Island and onwards to the Isle of Man, the Scottish Islands and Ireland.

Alec Don, Chief Executive at the Port of Milford Haven, said that there’s a real buzz around when a cruise ship berths.  “Each year we welcome around 3,000 passengers between Milford Haven and Pembroke Port and staff and the local community are really excited by the visits,” he said.  “We very much look forward to giving a warm Pembrokeshire welcome to the passengers and crew of Silver Explorer and, as always, will offer some exciting shore side entertainment to greet them as they disembark.  Some passengers will be taken on planned excursions, organised by Silverseas, exploring some of Pembrokeshire’s most famous visitor attractions, whilst other passengers will wander around the town and surrounding area at their leisure.”

One of the best vantage points for those who are interested in taking photographs is Neyland.
