We have a number of job vacancies at Pembroke Dock Ferry Terminal for the roles of Freight Operative, Terminal and Security Operative and Search Team Operative.
As a freight operative you will work within a small team to move freight on and off ships. Please note the role involves working outside in bad weather conditions.
You will be contracted to work 1094 hours per year which will involve working nights and day shifts as required. This will also include weekend and bank holiday working. You may also be required to work at various locations in Pembroke Dock or Milford Haven. To apply you must hold a valid HGV licence (Class 1) or relevant Port experience moving containers and driving agricultural vehicles.
Duties include searching passengers, luggage and vehicles, confiscating weapons or other prohibited items, issuing boarding documents and undertaking document searches. You will have good communication skills with the ability to work to strict guidelines, whilst remaining calm and polite at all times. The nature of the post necessitates flexibility in working hours due to short notice cover requirements and/or altered sailing times.
A Search Team Operative position has become vacant. To be compliant under the Department for Transport rules, we must have the capability to carry out same sex searches on duty. On this occasion the vacancy is for a Male Search operative.
Duties include searching passengers, luggage and vehicles, confiscating weapons or other prohibited items and undertaking document searches. You will have good communication skills with the ability to work to strict guidelines, whilst remaining calm and polite at all times. The nature of the post necessitates flexibility in working hours but averages 37.4 hours per week.
